Hello Community!
Announcing VR ARENA
We are thrilled to announce that we are bringing a brand-new attraction to market: the Omniverse VR ARENA!
VR ARENA is a high-energy, four-player esports attraction for the location-based entertainment (“LBE”) market, featuring four Omni platforms and powered by our Omniverse content platform. VR ARENA brings esports out-of-home, giving all players a chance to win in ongoing weekly and monthly prize contests with an annual prize pool of $50,000. Highlights of the attraction include:
- Ongoing esports prize contests boost repeat play (avg. 7x) and build a community of frequent players, with $5,000+ in cash prizes available each month.
- VR ARENA is highly automated with a built-in staging area for quick player setup, minimal attendant labor (only 1 attendant needed), and a queuing application that eliminates revenue-losing wait lines.
- The attraction offers a complete guest experience for up to four players, including fun mini-games and social media sharing of gameplay footage with the venue’s logo and digital signage built-in.
- VR ARENA is powered by the Omniverse content platform with 18 highly optimized games across all popular game genres (7 more games in development).
- This is the only way to experience running in VR, featuring the brand-new and radically improved Omni 2.0 motion technology, designed for out-of-home esports.
VR ARENA is radically different than anything we’ve done before. We partnered with Funovation, an LBE industry leader in developing small-footprint attractions, to bring VR ARENA to market. Funovation is the manufacturer and distributor of the Laser Maze Challenge, the world’s leading laser maze attraction installed in over 350 locations in 29 countries.
We are unveiling VR ARENA at IAAPA Attractions Expo 2018, the world’s largest tradeshow for the attractions industry, to be held in Orlando from November 13 to 16. If you plan to attend this show, you can sign up here for a VIP demo of VR ARENA and a fast-pass to skip the line. Visitors at IAAPA can also participate in a global esports tournament featuring the popular shooter “Omni Arena” (2-player co-operative mode). The tournament offers more than $5,000 in cash prizes, and the winning team takes home $2,000.

Omniverse ESPORTS™ – Core Defense Tournament 10/27
We held our first Omniverse ESPORTS™ tournament on October 27. Two-player teams battled for the highest score in our popular first-person shooter game Omni Arena (“Core Defense” cooperative mode). Congrats to Jared and Lochlan, who won 1st place and took home $1,000!
Honorable mentions go to ShadeZ / tabels7, who won 2nd place ($500), and eemilyyy11 / kitkat4435, who won 3rd place ($250). Congrats to all!
Prize contests stimulate repeat play and boost the revenues of the operator. On average, the participating teams in the past contest played the game 7 times. The winning team played 14 times, and the second-place team played 16 times trying to beat the eventual winners! It was an exciting spectacle to behold.
Watch a summary video of the event below, filmed at the Omniverse VR arcade in Houston, one of the participating locations. A full video of the event, including shoutcaster commentary, can be found here.
The next Omniverse ESPORTS™ tournament will take place from November 13 to 18, again featuring 2-player Omni Arena (game mode “Core Defense”). The top team wins $2,000. For more information and to sign up, visit www.omniverse.global.
New Omni Arena and The Exorcist: Legion VR
We released a new version of Omni Arena, featuring an updated “Core Defense” co-operative mode optimized for our Omniverse ESPORTS™ leaderboards and prize contests. The update includes shorter rounds, with summary stats and player scores communicated between each round. The last round of “Metropolis” now includes a giant boss!
Additionally, Core Defense can now be played by any number of players, up to a maximum of four players.
We also released a new version of The Exorcist: Legion VR, with two additional levels: Chapter 4 (“Samaritan”) and Chapter 5 (“The Tomb”). These new levels are high-quality horror content, a great fit for Halloween weekend. See a trailer video below:
